Set up Fongo Works

Free means free
The free plan has no time limit and needs no credit card. It includes a local number, forwarding to your cell, voicemail, a recorded greeting and up to six extensions.
Pick your number
You choose a number at no cost during sign-up. Fongo lists local numbers across Canada, for example 778 for New Westminster and Burnaby and 604 for Vancouver. Pick one that's easy to say out loud, because you'll repeat it often.
Use the right app
Install Fongo Works, not the regular Fongo app. The regular app won't accept a Fongo Works login. Calls you make from the Fongo Works app show your business number.
Forwarding and voicemail
Forwarding sends business calls to any active Canadian number. If your cell's own voicemail answers first, customers hear your personal greeting, so lower your extension's ring count in the dashboard.
Keep the number
Fongo can close a free account after 90 days with no calls in or out. Answer or make a call from the app at least every couple of months.
