Reserve the name first

You need a name reservation number before you register. Reserve the name online in the Corporate Registry application, choosing "Saskatchewan business name registration" and "sole proprietor". Choosing the wrong purpose means paying again. A reservation costs $50 and is held for 90 days.

Register online

Registering the business name costs $65. The same application can also register you with the CRA for a Business Number and with the Ministry of Finance.

Renew every three years

The registration lasts three years, and renewing costs $60. You must renew even if nothing has changed, and report an address change within 15 days.

Your details are public

A registry search shows your mailing address and owner details. If you work from home and do not want customers to see your address, use a PO box or a mailing address service.
