Install Variation Converter: step-by-step guide

Back up first

Variation Converter hides products instead of deleting them, and every change can be undone. A backup is still the safe habit before changing many products at once. Most hosts offer a one-click backup or snapshot.

Install the plugin

Download the plugin zip from the Variation Converter site. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin, choose the zip, then click Install Now and Activate.

You need WooCommerce 8.0 or later.

Find it

The plugin adds Products > Variation Converter, with three tabs: Combine, Split and History. Opening Combine scans your published simple products. Nothing changes until you approve something.
