Privacy
You fall under Canada's privacy law, PIPEDA. Customer data needs care, so:
- Collect only what you need.
- Never share it with advertising networks.
- Say clearly in your policy what you keep and for how long.
Marketing email
Canada's anti-spam law, CASL, requires clear consent and an unsubscribe link in every marketing email.
Consumer rules
Newfoundland and Labrador's Consumer Protection and Business Practices Act has rules for distance sales, such as showing the required information before the customer buys, letting them correct errors and sending a copy of the contract. Check the current requirements with Digital Government and Service NL or a lawyer before you publish your terms of sale.
