What your supplier needs

Your business name, Business Number and HST number. Ask what else they require.

HST on your stock

You will normally pay HST on the stock you buy and claim it back through your HST return, which is one reason to register early (step 4). Ask your accountant how this works for your situation.

Questions to ask

  • What are the pricing, minimum order and shipping terms?
  • Can you use the supplier's product images and descriptions?
  • Is there a minimum advertised price you must follow?
  • Is dropshipping available?

Start small

Place a small test order to check the product, the packaging and the delivery time before you commit to a larger one.
