Privacy
Most businesses in Alberta fall under Alberta's own private-sector privacy law, the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Customer data needs care, so:
- Collect only what you need.
- Never share it with advertising networks.
- Say clearly in your policy what you keep and for how long.
Marketing email
Canada's anti-spam law, CASL, requires clear consent and an unsubscribe link in every marketing email.
Consumer rules
Alberta's Internet Sales Contract Regulation sets out what you must tell customers before they buy online. Check the current requirements with the Alberta government or a lawyer before you publish your terms of sale.
